Sant Andreu

Sant Andreu Nestled between districts El Clot, Nou Barris, and Getting around is very easy here with the district being well served by the public transport system. The metro has many stops around the most important areas in Sant Andreu and can take you to Plaça Catalunya in just 15 minutes, while the RENFE train can easily get you in and out of the city center.

While the proud, welcoming and authentic community here will surely make you fall in love with the area, San Andrés has many other attractions and treasures waiting for you to discover them. Plaça del Mercadal should be one of the first sites to visit, a charming porticoed square where time seems to have stood still. Sant Andreu De Palomar Church is also a must-see: a beautiful neo-gothic building that has survived throughout the ages despite a tumultuous past.

Sant Andreu is not as rich in restaurants, bars and cafés as other parts of Barcelona, but what it lacks in quantity, it surely makes up in quality. You can find small, welcoming restaurants where you can eat excellent traditional Catalan food, as well as places where you can enjoy fresh fish cooked just the way you want it. As for shopping, you'll find plenty of options on the Carrer Gran de Sant Andreu street, as well as in the Maquinista center.
