Public buses

The public bus service delivers a service to 20 key locations in Athens. Between May and October buses run every half an hour between 7.30am and 9pm.

The service is reduced between October and May, it runs from 9am to 6pm and an hourly service between November and April 10am to 4pm. The bus line 400 runs to the key sites of Athens and can be used as a sightseeing tour bus for a very reasonable cost. This bus goes from the Archaeological Museum to Omonoia, passing these places of interest: Psyrri, Kerameikos, Thiseion, Monatiraki, Athens market, Kluffhmonos Square, Syntagma Square, Benaki Museum, National Gallery, Ampelokipoi, the Stadium, Plaki, Acropolis, Olympian Zeus temple, Greek parliament, University and Omonoia. These buses generally run every 30 minutes.You can buy a one journey ticket, Daily tickets or a 90 minutes ticket these include the use of all public transport, buses, trams, and electric rails.

Public transport is provided from Athens airport to the centre of Athens and the port of Piraeus by an express airport bus connection on a 24hr basis providing an efficient service, to all who use it and to ensure a good linkage to key tourist attractions. There are three bus itineraries to carry passengers to and from the airport line E94, from airport to Ethniki Amina Metro station, E95 from airport to Syntagma Square and E96 airport to the centre of Piraeus (Karaiskaki square). The tickets for these buses are valid for 24hrs and include all public transport (buses, trolley buses and the metro).
